Landscape
On the Bavarian side of the mountain saddle the way leads to one of the most beautiful valley country sides of the Alpine northern edge, past lush meadows and pictorial farms by the gentle Weissachauen. The Tirol side, beyond the mountain saddle, is covered by pristine alpine nature.
Culture
In Kreuth numerous attractions are available to the selection: The Gothic parish church St Leonhard (oldest Leonhardskirche in Bavaria , the Holy Cross Kircherl, many clinics and nursing centers, the annual international Oleg Kagan music celebration (at the beginning of July) or the many costume festivals -, forest and customs celebrations like the Palmtragen, Johannifeuer or Almkirta. A cultural gem worth seeing is the Kalvarienkirche with the holy staircase, situated on a hill at the delta of the Blaserbach into the Ache, which can be ascended only on knees. In Achenkirch the Sixenhof is highly advised as an intermediate stop: The centuries-old Tiroler Einhof accommodates the local history museum of the Achensee (May until Octobers daily: 1300 to 1700, www.sixenhof.at)
Recreation and health
While the climatic health resort in Kreuth, in which swimming in the Kreuther Gumpen as well as a bike tour between Wallenbergflanke Hirschberg Leonhardstein and finally to the Blaubergmassiv is highly advised, there are other attractions in Tirol.

One map, different bills of fare: On the German side we advise, naturally, home-made Alm products such as cheese, game or mushroom dishes and caramelized Kaiserschmarrn. The recommendation in Tirol, in contrast includes fresh Achensee trout, prepared according to your desire.

Sights
In Wildbad Kreuth, one should take a short recuperative rest at the former site for a health spa. And then, in contrast on Tirol side, it is a mere 10 km ride to Canada: The Rofandorf Steinberg offers unaffected nature, wild ravines and heavily wooded forests, perhaps the most beautiful end of the world.
